You might have an idea of the loan payment and mortgage you can afford; but will the bank feel otherwise? It's always best to get pre-approved for a mortgage so you know exactly how much a financial institution would be willing to lend you. In addition, if you find a home you are interested in making an offer on, we will need to include a Loan Status Report which outlines your qualifications for financing the home in Arizona. Sellers will rightfully take offers more seriously if a buyer has already been pre-approved by a lender.

- Pull a credit report on yourself and make sure the information is accurate. If you find any errors take steps to correct them immediately.
- Start saving money. You will need to have cash on hand for a down payment and closing costs.
- Don't incur any additional debt and pay down your credit cards. Also, don't apply for any new credit cards or revolving accounts.
- Don't make any major purchases on credit; buy the new furniture or car later. Large purchases can raise flags when applying for a mortgage.
